Mónica Núñez Albarrán nació en la Ciudad de México y es Licenciada en Diseño Industrial, con especialidad en Diseño Gráfico y Escenografía. No obstante, su verdadera pasión desde la infancia ha sido la pintura. Cuando era niña, pasaba mucho tiempo sola, dedicándose a pensar e imaginar distintos mundos que plasmaba a través de la pintura. En ese entonces, lidiaba con una depresión a causa de su entorno, reflejándose en trazos abstractos y oscuros en sus obras.
A los 25 años, experimentó una cirugía cardíaca después de un infarto, durante la cual "murió" y regresó a este mundo. Este episodio le abrió los ojos a la vida, enseñándole a disfrutar cada momento como si fuera el último. Desde entonces, no ha dejado de viajar, vivir y sonreírle a la vida desde una perspectiva totalmente diferente. Entre 2002 y 2003, vivió en Londres, donde estudió cursos en Mix Media Painting, Etching y Fotografía en blanco y negro. Además, tuvo la oportunidad de trabajar como voluntaria en el British Museum, exhibiendo objetos antiguos al público.
De vuelta en la Ciudad de México, casada y con dos hijos, se sometió a una cirugía de columna vertebral en 2013, una experiencia dolorosa con una recuperación lenta. A lo largo de su carrera, ha creado más de 100 obras, incluyendo grabados, acuarelas, técnicas mixtas y principalmente óleos. También mantiene un extenso portafolio de fotografías. En la actualidad, se dedica por completo a la pintura y la fotografía, exhibiendo sus obras en diversas galerías de la Ciudad de México. Además, es representada a nivel internacional por la "1819 Art Gallery" de Madrid, España, y sus obras se encuentran disponibles para adquisición a través de Artsy, una plataforma global para coleccionistas de arte.

Mónica Núñez Albarrán was born in Mexico City and holds a degree in Industrial Design, specializing in Graphic Design and Scenography. However, her true passion since childhood has been painting. When she was a little girl, she spent a lot of time alone, dedicating herself to thinking and imagining different worlds that she captured through painting. At that time, she dealt with depression due to her surroundings, reflecting in abstract and dark strokes in her works.
At the age of 25, she underwent heart surgery after a heart attack, during which she "died" and returned to this world. This episode opened her eyes to life, teaching her to enjoy every moment as if it were the last. Since then, she has not stopped traveling, living, and smiling at life from a completely different perspective. Between 2002 and 2003, she lived in London, where she studied courses in Mix Media Painting, Etching, and Black and White Photography. She also had the opportunity to volunteer at the British Museum, exhibiting ancient objects to the public.
Back in Mexico City, married and with two children, she underwent spinal surgery in 2013, a painful experience with a slow recovery. Throughout her career, she has created more than 100 works, including engravings, watercolors, mixed techniques, and mainly oils. She also maintains an extensive portfolio of photographs. Currently, she is fully dedicated to painting and photography, exhibiting her works in various galleries in Mexico City. In addition, she is internationally represented by the "1819 Art Gallery" in Madrid, Spain, and her works are available for acquisition through Artsy, a global platform for art collectors.
