I have been able to closely observe numerous problems and threats affecting vulnerable species, such as the monarch butterfly. Fires and illegal logging in the forests where part of its life cycle takes place are some of its most significant challenges. This painting seeks, indirectly, to highlight the importance of "sanctuaries" as an effective means to protect and conserve the monarch butterfly. We can hardly love and care for what we do not know.

He podido observar de cerca numerosos problemas y amenazas que afectan a especies vulnerables, como la mariposa monarca. Los incendios y las talas ilegales en los bosques donde transcurre parte de su ciclo de vida constituyen algunos de sus desafíos más significativos. Esta pintura busca, de manera indirecta, resaltar la importancia de los "santuarios" como medio efectivo para proteger y conservar a la mariposa monarca. Difícilmente podremos amar y cuidar aquello que desconocemos.
