Alfredo Zavala es un pintor y dibujante autodidacta que abandonó la biología para estudiar pintura en el Centro de Residencias e Investigación Artística (CRIA) de Ensenada, BC. Ha exhibido sus pinturas en México, Estados Unidos, Inglaterra y España.
Su obra es figurativa con bases de abstracción. Retratos de la vida silvestre y paisajes terrestres y marinos nutren su discurso plástico: "es el registro de alguien que observa minuciosamente su entorno natural".
En la última década, ha alternado su residencia entre Inglaterra y México, lo que imprime carácter a su obra, como se aprecia en la serie titulada "Caminar entre dos tierras". Desde 2021 reside y trabaja en Aguascalientes, México. Sus pinturas actuales se centran en la figura humana y el retrato, al tiempo que comparte su experiencia pictórica con el público interesado a través de la enseñanza.
Alfredo Zavala is a self-taught painter and draftsman who abandoned biology to study painting at the Center for Residencies and Artistic Research (CRIA) in Ensenada, BC. He has exhibited his paintings in Mexico, the United States, England and Spain.
His work is figurative with bases of abstraction. Portraits of wildlife and landscapes and seascapes nourish his plastic discourse: "it is the record of someone who meticulously observes his natural environment."
In the last decade, he has alternated his residence between England and Mexico, which gives character to his work, as seen in the series titled "Walking between two lands." Since 2021 he resides and works in Aguascalientes, Mexico. His current paintings focus on the human figure and portraiture, as he shares his painting experience with the interested public through teaching.
